A great book for parents and babies - Summary: great fun for parents and babiesReviewer: mother of an 8 month oldMy daughter was given this and Olivia Counts and loved both from a very early age. Even at 10 weeks old she would concentrate on the pictures, which are red, black and white - good contrasting colours for young babies. Now she s a bit older she loves me acting out the opposites - favourite is the loud-quiet page, closely followed by up-down, and the book ends appropriately with open-closed. What s particularly nice about this book is that the opposites and the pictures have something of interest for the adult reader too. Olivia dolled up in pearls and lipstick is fancy, and just in her knickers is plain. As the child gets older they ll be able to appreciate the humour in the pictures. Finally, and crucially, the hardback design is robust enough to withstand a fairly good chewing. My daughter had teeth at 5 months, but her Olivia books are still going strong!
